This Week at a Glance
Hello Tsunami Families!
It is hard to believe that we are already half-way through the season! This week there are lots of items to get to, so please read all the way through.
1. The meet registration is OPEN for next Saturday's meet vs. Hunters Hill. Please ensure that you sign up your child by midnight Tuesday night, regardless if they are swimming or not. There is an option to select that your child will not be attending the meet- this helps the coaches know whether or not you have remembered to log on and sign up your child. There was a change to the schedule late in the season by RMSL, and therefore, our website was incorrect regarding who our meet was against. The website is now correct- we are in fact swimming against Hunters Hill. At this time, we have filled ALL shifts that are not stroke judge specific. Unless I hear something different from Hunters Hill, we are good to go, thank you! Additionally, we are getting closer to Prelims- These entries are DUE prior to our last meet. There will be additional information sent out regarding these events, but start planning now. We are also going to need volunteers for the shifts at the Prelim and Finals meets. If you know that your child is going to swim and you will be attending, please sign up for the events so we can ensure we provide all required shifts.
2. The Jason Lezak clinic is this Wednesday the 20th at 2pm (weather permitting- there is a contingency plan which I will send out if the weather does not cooperate). There is still time to sign up your kids if you want them to attend. You can select the "shop" tab, and select Jason Lezak clinic or give me a check made payable to Knolls Tsunami Swim Team. The following is a schedule of events for this day Please note that there are 2 groups. Please ensure that your child arrives at the designated time to get signed in and is ready to go. This should be a great experience for our kiddos.
2:00-2:30: Check in, autographs and pictures Group 1 (Ages 11 and up)
2:30-3:30: Water portion Group 1
3:30-4:00: Talk, Q&A for Groups 1 and 2
4:00-4:30: Autographs and pictures Group 2
4:30-5:30: Water Portion Group 2
3. Water World day is Thursday May 21st. There will be NO practice on this day. If you have not picked up your Water World tickets, I will have them at the practice tomorrow and Wednesday morning. If you are unable to pick them up then, please let me know and I will work out another option for getting the tickets to you.
4. Finally, Parent relays and pot-luck dinner are scheduled for Next Wednesday the 29th. I have received mixed reaction to this event, and I know last year was hard to attend due to the Holiday. I have created a very quick survey surrounding this event that I would love for you to take so that I can judge whether we should hold or not... this was originally started as a fund-raiser for the swim team, however, with it being scheduled as a pot-luck it is not at this time.
