    IMPORTANT UPDATE: WePay Refund

    Good Evening Current and Past Knolls Tsunami Families,

    Update regarding the WePay Account Compromise:

    Recap of the original email from April 6th:

    The team WePay account has been compromised. WePay is an online payment processor that Swim Topia uses for online financial transactions. We are aware of the situation and we are working with Swim Topia to correct this issue. WePay does not have a contact for teams to communicate with directly. At this current time Swim Topia is working with WePay on our account.

    Some of you may have received a refund email from WePay through Swim Topia. Some of you may see that refunded money in your banking or credit card accounts. We ask you to, please, earmark this money and to not spend it.

    Update from April 8, 2019:

    WePay has reversed (taken back) the refunds that were issued. We have confirmation that some credit card accounts were charged without previously being refunded. This would look like a regular credit card charge to WPY*Knolls Tsunami Swim Team. Please, monitor your accounts closely. If this applies to you, please, see the directions below to resolve the unauthorized charge(s).

    This activity is from a past WePay account that was used from 2014 to 2018.

    We have learned that this is not an isolated incident with WePay, and they are solely responsible.

    WePay has issued the following statement:

    Hi Team,

    You recently were sent a notification from WePay stating you will receive a refund for a payment you made in to the Knolls Tsunami Swim Team account. This refund was done in error, and we are in the process of cancelling the refund. The refund may show on your card statement as a credit (refund) and a subsequent void (refund reversal). You do not need to take action to resolve this issue.

    We are working with our processor to diligently resolve this problem as soon as possible. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused you.

    Unauthorized Charges and Unresolved Erroneous Activity:

    This is for accounts not issued a refund but WePay has taken funds out of your account and unresolved refunds. 

    Send an email with the following information to [email protected], referencing support ticket #62831:

    • -Transaction ID of payment with WePay
    • -Email address
    • -Debit/reverse refund/charge amount/erroneous refund
    • -Image of WePay debit online banking statement/credit card statement

    Once this data is shared, the charge will be fixed quickly.
