A message from Jerrod Brown- year round swimming

    Hi Tsunami Families!

This is Jerrod Brown, Record Keeper for The Knolls Tsunami and dad to Emrik and Mathis Brown. I wanted to say a few things to close the season out:
    1) It was so fun to see some amazing improvements and accomplishments this year in the pool. So many smiles, laughs, and fun happening....especially in heating so a big thanks to those heating volunteers for organizing even the most enthusiastic of our Tsunami!
    2) I am in the process of completing the updating and organizing of the Knolls Records in the Clubhouse and I'll have them updated on the site soon. Keep in mind that the Clubhouse records are Short Course Yard times (25 yard pools like The Knolls) and the records on the website are Short Course Meter times (25 meter pools). Several of the pools in our league are meters (Stonegate, Cherry Creek Vista, SouthPark, and Heritage Greens to name a few), and all finals are hosted by meter pools. The standard conversion for Rocky Mountain Swim League is 1.11 to go from Yards to Meters and Meters to Yards, so you just divide or multiply by that 1.11 depending on which way you need to convert.
    3) It is true that some of these records are set by club swimmers, but many are also set by summer swimmers and school team swimmers. If your swimmer has an eye on a Knolls Record, it doesn’t necessarily mean they NEED to join a year round team to do so. It would obviously help them but it’s certainly not mandatory. There are still some records in the case from the 80’s and 90’s just asking to be broken. I hope your swimmers know that no matter what level they are at....on this team, they are seen, recognized, and cherished for their accomplishments and presence on the team. I'm so proud of all of our Tsunami swimmers and watching them continually get better at each meet and especially year over year is such an impressive thing to watch.
    4) As a parent of club swimmers and an active Official for USA Swimming, I would also invite anyone who is looking for year-round swimming opportunities to please hit me up with an email or phone call. There are at least Two club teams right now represented on the Tsunami team (ACES and Slipstream) and I would be happy to answer any questions or talk about teams, expectations, etc. [email protected] or 303-513-8112 Congratulations to a great season! Jerrod
